Q - What is the purpose
of this CTHIPHOP.ORG?
A - CTHIPHOP.ORG is intended to help Connecticut based hip hop artists
promote their music. This site is a free resource for publicity, marketing,
and promotion. Read more on our About page.
Q - How much does it cost to get
listed on this site?
A - Nothing. This is a free marketing and promotion site for Connecticut
based Hip Hop artists. As long as you meet the requirements
and adhere to the Terms of Service, once you are
approved, your content will be posted free of charge.
Q - How can I get listed on
this site?
A - To get listed, use the Contact page.
Choose what type of content you wish to post and the appropriate area
on CTHIPHOP.ORG where it should be listed (News, Video, Music, etc.).
Make sure you agree to the Terms of Service and
meet all the requirements.
Q - What are the
requirements of getting listed on this site?
A - To get listed you absolutely must meet these requirements:
| |
- You must be from Connecticut
- You must post a link on one of your sites
back to our site (see below for details)
- You must own and/or have ownership rights
to the content you wish to post
- You must read and agree to the Terms
of Service
|
Furthermore, materials submitted will be subject to review. If the
above conditions are not met, and/or the content submitted is substandard,
redundant, sounds or looks like a rip off of another artist, or is just
generally wack, you will not be listed on this site. CTHIPHOP.ORG reserves
the right to post or not post materials at its own discretion. For more
information read the Terms of Service.
Q - Can I be listed
on more than one page?
A - Yes, absolutely. Submit what you got, we'll sort it out.
Q - What does "Exact
link where you will add a link to CTHIPHOP.ORG" mean?
A - One of the requirements of posting material to this site is to include
a link back to us somewhere on one of your web sites (your official
site, your Facebook fan page, your YouTube channel, your blog, etc.)
You must tell us exactly where you are going to post the link on our
Contact page. For instance, if you are putting
a link to us on your official site right on the home page you would
enter http://www.yourwebsite.com (yourwesite.com would of course be
replace by your real web site address). If you are putting a link to
us on your YouTube channel, you would enter http://www.youtube.com/yourchannelname.
We will then go to that address and confirm that we are listed there.
If we are not listed your content will not be approved
and you will not be listed on this site.
Q - What is the format
for linking to CTHIPHOP.ORG?
A - The exact format of the link text is CT Hip Hop - free publicity,
marketing, and promotion which will link to http://www.cthiphop.org.
The HTML code is:
<a href="http://www.cthiphop.org">CT Hip Hop - free
publicity, marketing, and promotion</a>
You can copy the above and paste it into your web page, blog, etc.
It should look and work something like this when complete: CT
Hip Hop - free publicity, marketing, and promotion
Q - What does "(post only link/URL)"
mean?
A - This means we want links to the content you want listed. If you
want a video listed, find it on YouTube or where ever it is and copy
the link to it up in the address bar of your browser. It will look something
like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sqfNn9gufLc&lc=0MYJ2Q-wVwNOwRdaWaA&context=C375f763ADOEgsToPDskLK.
Copy that and paste it into the YouTube box on the Contact
page. Do this for each box if you have the matching content.
Q - Can I send you my demo?
A - Hell no. Nope, we don't want your demo. You can upload links to
your videos, links to where to buy/download your music, links to news,
press releases, shows, event listings, and links to your home and social
media sites.
Q - How long can my bio be?
A - Bios are limited to 350 characters including spaces. Make sure
you spell check them before you hit submit, we will display them
exactly as submitted and will not proof for spelling or grammatical
errors.
Q - How should I submit
my band/group image?
A - Type or paste a link from your official site, or anywhere online
where your band image is, into the Artist/Group Image box on the Contact
form. Usually they live on web servers in directories called "images"
or "img." If you're not sure of the image name, right or alt
click on it while looking at it in your browser and choose Save As.
That should tell you the name. You should then be able to locate it
easier on your web server. If not, get a tech savvy person to help you.
Don't rely on Facebook, or Myspace either. You may be able to see an
image on your profile with ease, but we won't be able to. Choose a picture
with an address like http://www.yoursite.com/images/yourbandpicture.jpg.
Choose one that is pretty square as well. Band/group images will be
displayed as 225 x 225 pixels on the site, regardless of their original
size/dimensions.
Q - What size/dimensions
will me videos be displayed?
A - Videos will be embedded and displayed at a maximum of 640 x 480
pixels. We will display artist name and video title based upon the band
name given and the title/description associated with the video. If title
cannot be clearly discerned, one may be assigned at CTHH's discretion.
Q - In what order will my content
appear on the site?
A - Typically it's first come, first serve. The earlier you get in,
the closer you will appear to the top of the page, unless you have a
dated news article or press release. News will be sorted by date, the
newest being placed closest to the top of the page. Where and how content
may be displayed is outlined in the Terms of Service.
